Companies that provide Cloud Computing Services (e.g., products that are cloud based) and intent to work with or provide services to state agencies in the USA, are required to comply with FedRAMP regulations, or any StateRAMP regulations, such as TxRAMP (in Texas).

FedRAMP / StateRAMP – The Federal or State Risk and Authorization Management Program. This is a federal/state regulation program that provides a standardized approach to security authorizations for Cloud Computing Service Offerings.

TxRAMP – A StateRAMP program that was established by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). All businesses that work with Texas state agencies are required to comply with TxRAMP regulations.
